Marine Adhesive Labels

Marine adhesives labels, utilise a permanent rubber based adhesive with an aggressive adhesion that can withstand protracted submersion under water (minimum of 6 months), so making them ideal for aquatic or marine use.

One of the most common applications for these types of labels is chemical labelling. Following the Zeebrugge ferry disaster, legislation in the form of the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods and Marine Pollutants) Regulations 1990 was introduced to cover the export of chemicals from the UK by sea. The regulations require packages to be "durably marked". British Standard - BS5609 - sets out the various criteria such as; adhesive performance, print permanence, abrasion resistance and so on to stipulate the minimum standards required of labels which may be used in "Marine Environments". Compliance with the requirements of BS5609 ensures that your labels may be classified as "durable" and in compliance with the legislation. Insignia labels specialise in providing the highest quality, cost effective labels either as standard Marine Pollutant labels from stock or our full colour labels can be personalised to suit your needs and branding requirements.

The Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods and Marine Pollutants) Regulations 1990 and the revised International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code, place great emphasis on the correct labelling of marine shipped packages. Our labels are in full accordance with all relevant legislation and will ensure your in your compliance with the legislation.
